To avoid strict legal restrictions in Norway regarding igaming / betting companies I was tasked with creating a pre-paid MasterCard design for VIP customers that would have a hint / essence of the core branding of the Swedish betting company Betsson.
Betsson CRM needed a “minimal, elegant” concept and approach which would be naturally compatible with Betsson’s Brand Guidelines (no photography, too many colours or complex backgrounds). My idea was to have a version with the edge of the card coloured, thus making it easy to identify in a wallet busy with other cards. The letter B in betsson was isolated, abstracted and in its place an orange concentric circle to give it some minimalism. latterly, the design would be brought together with the help of UV varnishing to give the abstracted letter b visual prominence.
